Interesting wine/food pairing

I opened a rather tannic Portuguese red last night. Today it has mellowed a bit, but I thought I would like a snack to pad it a bit as an afternoon drink. I chose Terra Chips Mediterranean flavour root vegetable chips. I think I like the yucca and parsnip chips best. It went surprisingly well with the wine, giving me a fine excuse to eat more chips and drink more wine. Perfect.
