A Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon
The British folks are back so the wine is flowing again. Tonight we had the Santa Rita Medalla Real Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 from the Maipo Valey in Chile. It was a fairly nice Cab, lovely purple colour with a pleasant black current aroma, although fairly leafy and tannic. I think it would probably appeal to Cab Sauv fans as a decent cheap wine...but then I checked the price list and discovered it retails here for $22.70. I think for up to $17 I'd be pleased, but over $20 is a bit much for this not very interesting wine. For that price I think you can do better.
